REVIEW: Cold Stone's Limited Edition Lucky Charms ice cream

I’m gonna say this first, I’m a sucker for special holiday tie-in treats. Usually they are for Christmas, but the more obscure the holiday, the better! This year, in celebration of St. Patrick’s day, Cold Stone Creamery released a Lucky Charms Ice Cream. The base is a LC flavored ice cream and it’s mixed in with LÇ marshmallows and whipped topping. Or you can get it in a milkshake. They call it “Ice Cream at the end of the Rainbow”

I found out on a bunch of the junk food blogs I follow (SHOUT OUT MARKY DEVO). It was slated to come out March 1, so I told Enchantress we needed to get to a cold stone and try it.

Much like Jerry and Kramer wen Ma and Pa stole Jerry’s sneakers, we had to travel to Reading, Pennsylvania to get to our nearest Cold Stone, which surprised me since a year a half ago we had 3 of them around us. Reading is only 25 minutes away though, so it wasn’t a bad trip. We actually had a fun road trip leading up to getting there, and we got inside Cold Stone and saw that they did indeed have the Lucky Charms ice cream.

We ordered a small sized ice cream and a small milk shake of the lucky charms variety. I didn’t go with the green cone because the green dye in the ice cream was enough for me. The girl making them did a nice job though I didn’t get any LC marshmallows or gold sprinkled on top.

We went to the car to enjoy, and wow, did this stuff deliver. It tasted just like they turned Lucky Charms milk into ice cream. There were so many LC Marshmallows mixed into the ice cream, it was so delicious, and the shake was also really good. Both enchantress and I finished out deserts, and were very happy with them.

I give the Cold Stone Lucky Charms ice cream an A+ rating! If I wasn’t avoiding sugar, I’d convince enchantress to make the trip again next week. (we still might)

Lucky Charms seems to be leaning hard into being the official cereal of St. Patrick’s Day, which I love. They put out Christmas and Winter versions, but the St. Patrick’s Day is now they’re big holiday. I’ve actually been collecting the St. Pat’s day Lucky Charms boxes for the last six years (I have a problem, I know) see below.

I can’t say “kudos” to General Mills enough for what they’re doing with the Lucky Charms brand and St. Patrick’s day. Hopefully Apples doesn’t call Howard and tell him about my Lucky Charms. Thanks for reading guys!
