25 Days of Cereal Day 5: 2018 Spooky Froot Loops

Yesterday we learned that Dr. John Harvey Kellogg had a Sanitarium started in the late nineteenth century. If he only new some hundred years later the company he and his brother founded would be selling Halloween themed version of their cereals with little spooky marshmallows in them, I think he’d realized his work was done and he saved the world.

What you’re looking at is the 2018 Spooky Edition Froot Loops. Finally a re-design as they last few years had regular Froot Loops with spooky bones marshmallows. This year: new box, new werewolf monster costume for Toucan Sam, and a new cereal design. Purple and orange halloween Froot Loops with “spooky” Marshmallows. These tasted exactly like last years, but were still an appreciated re-design. Even with the two color loops, the taste didn’t change because, in case you didn’t know, every Froot Loop tastes exactly the same. That’s how they keep the uniform flavor.

Out of all of Kelloggs Halloween offerings, and they put up a few, this is and will always be my favorite. There have been interactions of this dating back to the 90’s and I hold firm that this is the closest you’ll get to eating the old Ralston Ghostbuster Cereal in 2018. In my mind it holds the same exact taste.

If you haven’t heard it year, we put up a new podcast sharing more Christmas memories. I talk about the Christmas I got my Kenner Real Ghostbusters Firehouse play set. The Ghostbusters will always be my favorite franchise because they meant so much to me as a kid, and still do to this day.
