Halloween Comics: The Tomb of Dracula #41

Halloween Comics: The Tomb of Dracula #41

Happy October Everybody! This is it, the last month!  The time where you really need to get into it!  I feel like I have been slipping after starting the season hot, but it’s been busy and I haven’t put up my yard decor yet.  I’m hoping to do that this Sunday 10/4 so once I get that up, I’ll post pictures and videos of everything right here!  We had to skip the podcast this week because on top of being a very busy couple of weeks, I caught a cold and lost my voice, but we will be back next week for the start of our Halloween shows!  Squeezer is going to pit 5 retro halloween treats up agains the Monster Cereals, which I will defend are the ULTIMATE Halloween treat!

So this week was a big week in comic books, and I feel like I’m going to be saying that a lot in the coming weeks. First of all, this week say the release of The Amazing Spider-Man #1000 and it was a HUGE issue that released with a FUCK TON of variant covers, which I collected almost all of the once I could get my hands on.  You’re looking at 27 covers on this pile….. all of the same exact book.  I know, I have a problem.  But that’s what collecting is all about.

Also this week was the new Marvel Magna Web of Destiny #1, which I grabbed.

The Bad Seed story arch is running wild in the Batman books at this week it continued with Poison Ivy #48, grabbed the main cover and the foil variant.

There is a new Alien (yes that Alien franchise) vs. X-Men series, and #1 was released Wednesday, I grabbed the main cover and foil variant.

And finally the all new book Amazing Venom #1 which I’m very excited to read and report back on.

All these books are available to buy at your local comic shop so if any look appealing, head out and grab some!

Lets move on to tonight’s book!  Marvel’s “The Tomb of Dracula” #41.  This series is where Blade first appeared and he’s in this book as well.  I picked this story the “Halloween Holocaust!” Because it takes place on Halloween Night.  Dracula is fighting Dr. Sun which is a brain that feeds on blood, he burns him alive.  In this issue, Dracula’s enemies bring him back to life with Virgin tears (yes) and he’s like ya’ll seriously did this? Im gonna go kill some bitch and drink her blood.  So he goes and does that and is stopped by Blade who was written like most black super heroes were written in the 70’s.

So Dracula tells blade he was raised from the dead by Quincy Harker, and Blade rightlfully was like fuck no you were not.  But, he was. He says to fight Dr. Sun, Blade isn’t happy with this.  There is a sub-plot with some kids trick-or-treating one of them in a Spiderman costume, but it doesn’t really go anywhere.  These old books are not as well written as the DC book I talked about last week, but still fun to read!

Next week, I’ll be sharing a NEW book, thats will be released next Wednesday and is a Halloween one shot, so make sure you’re back here on Thursday to read all about it.

That’s all for now, let me know in the comments how many copies of Spider-man 1000 you bought? Or if you think I should be committed. (tomorrow I will be reviewing more Halloween Junk Food, plus putting together this weeks Saturday Morning Cartoon Club, so don’t forget to hit me up with suggestions)
