Halloween Comics: '26 Archie Halloween Spectacular

I’ve been collecting comic books off and on since I was a little kid.  In the 90’s when the big comic boom happened with Marvel, then Image and DC with Death of Superman and Batman Knightfall, I was fully engrossed in collecting.  I peaked with the X-Men age of Apocalypse, and offshoot books were an obsession of mine.  I’ve always collected Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale books, and about a little over 2 years ago, I heard Jeph was doing another “Long Halloween” run with DC, of course without Tim (RIP) this go-around.  That led into Absolute Batman, which led into the new Matt Fraction Batman run which led into my collecting probably over 300 new books in the last 2.5 years.

That leads me to todays topic, The 2026 Archie Halloween Special!  I’m a sucker for a Halloween Special, especially in comic books.  And since Wednesdays are Comic Book day (when new books are released), I’m going to try and fill you in on a Halloween book from the present or the past and some news on whats happening in the world.

This is a pretty decent special, with a hand full of Variant covers, I picked up the main cover and the two Ben Cooper style variants, but the guts are all the same.

It has a few cute stories in it and all new one, which I believe is the first story, then a classic Archie or 3, and finally another modern story which may or may not be new for this issue.

They’re all cute, quick stories which follow the Archie archetype.  I was never into the Riverdale books, I occasionally got copies of the Archie Digests you get from the impulse area of a grocery store check out, but they were lame compared to Batman in my opinion.
