Halloween Comics Update
I know I skipped last weeks Halloween Comic, but I’m going to make up for it with 2 weeks worth of updates, FIRST, lets look at the books I picked up on 10/14, then we’ll go into that weeks Halloween Comic review.
Wolverine Paradise is a book where he’s without the X-men but he’s joined in south beach by Dazzler, I’m in.
This is book 3 in this series, I’ve been grabbing it each week and this week it had a Clayface movie cover so grabbed that too
Collecting all the story books and tie-in books for the Bad Seeds event has been so much fun since the end of summer. This is seriously a great story and it reminds me of when I was a kid collecting all the Batman Knightfall books. This is Streets of Gotham #1 , an anthology of 6 stories from people on the streets of Gotham during the events of Bad Seeds
Another Bad Seeds tie in, this is Gotham Central which focuses on Jim Gordan and co. This is issue 2 and a great follow up to the beginning story in Issue 1.
John Connor enrolls in Riverdale high? What? this book is weird so I picked it up.
This is book 4 of a pretty good Basil Karlo and Lady Clayface story.
this is book 2 of a 3 book Spawn story written by Todd McFarlane, haven’t read it yet though.
FINALLY onto our Halloween Comic Book this week, 12-Foot Skeleton #1. This book caught my attention right away and issue 1 sets up what seems to be an amazing story and a cute one. Two kids on trick or treat where a seemingly destroyed 12 ft skeleton is possessed.
It’s starts out with Lola, one of the kids, talking to her Abuela about Dia De Los Muertos, setting up what I believe will be a major plot point.
Then it sets up some jerk kids bullying out other main kid (who has cancer) and the jerk bully has a dad who’s a bigger jerk. He encourages his son to really stick it this kid with cancer ensuing in some bullshit, but comeuppance will happen. We’re left with a cliffhanger for issue 2 which drops November 25th. Issue 1 is available at your local comic book store now!
Now onto this weeks comics (10/21/26)
Miles Morales Spider-man #3, I haven’t caught up with the book yet, but I love Miles so I’m excited to read.
Batwoman #8 is another tie-in story for the Bad Seeds story arch, so are Detective Comics and Nightwing
Hello Halloween #2, last year was #1, they released issue 1 last halloween. This is an anthology of 6 halloween stories. I didn’t read this one yet but once I do, I’ll report back. But the big Halloween issue this week was this one!
The Amazing Spider-man Halloween Special! This was really freaking cute! It started with a Spider-man story where Hallows Eve is robbing a jewlery store. Hallows power is she has an enchanted bag of Halloween masks, which grant her different powers as she puts them on. She puts on a witch had, and puts a spell on Spidey turning his web shooters into a candy shooter and a spider shooter “trick or treat” and his spidey suit to orange and black. I wont spoil the whole story for you, but it’s a good one.
There is also a cute story of Doc Oc at the Sinister Six Lair handing out candy to trick or treaters and then a “Daily Bugle Comics” section that is FREAKING AMAZING. This book has it all and is a MUST HAVE for the Halloween Season. I’d say get to your local comic book shop and get a copy ASAP.
