25 days of Cereal Day 3: Apple Cinnamon Toast Crunch

a couple years ago, General Mills tried to introduce a new cereal. They were planning on bringing back “French Toast Crunch” and I’m assuming that they wanted to get maximum use out of the die used to cut the mini bread shapes. The introduced “Tiny Toast” cereal to the world in a blueberry and strawberry flavor.

These didn’t last long….. as “Tiny Toast” that is. They were rebranded under the “Cinnamon Toast Crunch” family, with matching fonts and color schemes as Blueberry Toast Crunch and Strawberry Toast Crunch. They put out a new French Toast crunch box to match those two boxes and added another cereal to the line. This is todays cereal for review.

Apple Cinnamon Toast Crunch is delicious. I know your’e thinking “Day 3, is he going to not like a cereal?” Probably not, I love them all. Anyway, here is my review of the cereal.

I love the box. It’s neon green, and has cool colors all over it. I love apple/cinnamon flavor, so I have a feeling I’m going to love this one. I pull out the bag and the pieces look just like the “Tiny Toast” cereal, only instead of blue or red flecks, they have a cinnamon covering like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

I opened the bag and took a big smell, and it had a great scent, strong apple, strong cinnamon. You know this is gonna be a kick ass cereal. I poured a bowl, and ate some dry pieces and really dug the flavor. I poured on the milk and enjoyed, I really liked the flavor. The only problem I had was the cereal pieces themselves. Same reason I was never a huge fan of French Toast Crunch. Too much of a corn based cereal. (i.e., people gripes with the Monster Cereal recipes changes).

I prefer yesterdays cereal over Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Maple Cheerios) and probably would prefer Apple Cinnamon Cheerios over these, I should give them a try. I haven’t had them since I got a small free sample box in one of those free Toy’s R Us sample boxes.

I give it a grade of 4 out of 6 Geese A-Laying
